What is the Generals Cash
Card?
The Generals Cash Card is the official identification card of
Herkimer County Community
College. Issued to all students, faculty, and staff, the Generals Cash
Card is required for identification and access to essential campus services.
It also offers a convenient account - Generals Bucks - for making cashless purchases
on and around campus. All students, faculty, and staff are currently eligible to
receive a Generals Cash Card.

How do I get
my Generals Cash Card?
Returning students
should already have a card.
All new students will receive a Generals Cash Card upon arriving to campus.
A $10 College ID fee for the Card is included in your bill for all on-campus
students each semester to cover the cost of operating the Generals Cash
Card.

What if I
lose my Generals Cash Card?
If you lose your Generals Cash Card immediately visit the
Generals Cash Card Account Management Center
or call 1.888.913.HCCC (4222) to disable your Generals Cash Card Account.
Then, contact the ID Card Office located in the
Library
Building
outside the bookstore to deactivate all other services and obtain a new
card. A $10 fee will be charged for a replacement card.

How does
the
Generals
Bucks Account work?
The Generals Bucks
Account is a prepaid spending account on your Generals Cash Card offering a
safe and convenient way to make purchases on and around campus. Unused balances
roll over semester-to-semester and year-to-year. You must
add value or
authorize your financial aid to your Generals Bucks Account before using it to make purchases. You must have sufficient value
available in your Generals Bucks Account to pay for each transaction.
Each time you use your Generals Bucks Account, the amount of the
transaction will be deducted from your account. You may not spend more value
than you have.

Your 16-digit Generals Cash Card Account number is located on the front of
your card.

What's the difference between
Bookstore Voucher, Meal Plan and Generals Bucks Account?
The
bookstore voucher and meal plan for on campus students have been combined
with the Generals Bucks Account. In addition to personal payments, students
may now authorize their financial aid for purchases made with the card.
Students must complete a Generals Card Authorization Form available
here, or by visiting the the Bursar's
Office or Campus Bookstore. Note that students may not authorize more than
$800 to start the semester. More money can be added monthly as it is earned
through class attendance. Completed Generals Card Authorization Forms can be submitted to
the Bursar's Office in the Classroom Administration Building.

The Generals Bucks Account is a prepaid spending account offering a safe
and convenient way to make purchases
on and around campus. It is designed to eliminate the
need to carry cash around campus. You or your parents must
add value or authorize
your financial aid to your
Generals Bucks Account before using it for purchases. Value in the
Generals Bucks Account rolls over from semester to semester and from
year to year.

When is value added to the
Generals
Bucks Account
available?
Funds transferred by debit/credit card
and cash are available instantly. Check deposits are available on the
business day received. If
a check is returned to us by your financial institution for insufficient
funds, the deposit will be reversed from your Generals Bucks account and a
Returned Payment/Check fee will be assessed.
If the Returned Payment/Check fee creates a
negative balance in your account, you will be contacted to make another
payment to the account.

How do I make a purchase with
Generals
Bucks Account?
The Generals Bucks Account works much like a debit or credit card. Just
present your Generals Cash Card for payment to the attendant at the
register. Your card will be swiped in a terminal and the transaction
authorized. You will need to sign a printed receipt of the approved
transaction.

What if I forget my user
name or password?
Go to
Generals
Cash Card Account Management Center.
Under the Login button, click [Forgot your username or password?] and follow
the instructions.

What is the
Generals Bucks Account refund process?
You may receive a refund of your Generals Bucks Account balance when you
graduate, withdraw or leave your college. Proof of withdrawal or dismissal
is required. Refund requests must be submitted in writing to:

How do I recommend additional accepting locations for
Generals Bucks?
Cardholder suggestions are welcomed
and encouraged. Recommendations can be sent via e-mail to
our
recruitment department. Please include the name
and location and why you would like to see them join the
program.

What happens if I swipe my card at a self-service location and
the machine does not work?
If the self-service
machine does not work properly, the funds for that transaction
could be held in a “pending” status for seven (7) days. Then,
it will be released back into your available balance. From the
Account Summary screen, click on View Transactions
(for the Cash account) to see the status of each transaction.
If your funds do not return
to your available balance after 7 days from your initial swipe, please
email us a refund request. Please include the location, date & time of
the transaction(s) in question.
